Fall Gradation

I just got home (11:30pm) from the office, and although I know that's not late for some people...I like to get off of work on time everyday so it feels REALLY late to me. It feels like my jaw is going to fall off from so many yawns. So I'm going to bed now and will go visit all of you tomorrow!

But before I go, I just wanted to show you our fall colors that we're seeing a bit more of around Shinjuku. The bright colors mixed with the dark greens are lovely...and I keep on finding really great leaves to collect.

Can you guess what kind of tree these pretty leaves are from? (Hint: Japan is famous for its flowers!)

Under My Umbrella

Crossing a busy intersection can be tricky. Especially with hundreds of umbrellas.

Winking Witch

This was suppose to be my Halloween photo but I forgot to post it. But it was too cute to pass up so I'm posting it anyway!

This is the bakery shop Johan located inside Shinjuku Mitsukoshi Alcott, a shopping mall close to Shinjuku Station. They had a lot of Halloween themed pastries and bread that looked really good.

But this little witch caught my eye!

Don't you love the cute expressions on each face? It kind of reminded me of the witch in training from the movie "Kiki's Delivery Service." Have you seen it?

It's my favorite Studio Ghibli animation so if you haven't seen it, I hope you'll get a chance to. And don't worry, unlike my photo today, it's not a film about Halloween so you can watch it any time of the year!

Down By The River

It's been raining on and off this weekend...which makes the days much more chilly and the nights down right cold. But nothing a hot cup of cocoa can't fix!

Cafe La Boheme

Don't you just love those windows facing out into the park?

This is the Cafe La Boheme, a Italian restaurant, located right across the street from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. I love their high ceilings and open space. Not to mention the pretty chandeliers, which are reflected onto the windows.

They also have a great menu. And although I'm pretty sure it isn't authentic Italian cuisine, they use plenty of basil and garlic in their dishes to make it seem like it is!

Ruby Red

Hello friends. I'm finally back on my feet after my long weekend trip.

It seems like while I was there, we stepped right into fall here in Shinjuku! The leaves are gradually turning different colors...and I'm loving every minute of it!

For those of you who read and/or commented on my last post...just wanted to let you know that my speech at my best friend's wedding reception went surprisingly well. I did end up crying a bit but my friends said they liked my speech so I'm happy with it! Thanks so much for the supportive comments and I hope you all enjoy a lovely fall weekend!

Enjoy looking at more beautiful skies all around the world here.
